Reports revealed that for some gambling experts, at the end of the year, Atlantic City casinos will only present an account of earnings of less than half of what they gained back in 2006, and yes, they earned around $5.2 billion in the said year. But for them, they have been also really doing many things to have again all the gamblers who departed from them because of the 2008 economic recession. They have been also inviting them to come back and just gamble again.
Mario Bentanini from Atlantic City said: “I remember when Atlantic City was the place to be. Nowadays, we are lucky when a holiday rolls around and the casinos are half full. It’s sad what has happened to this place. Pennsylvania, Delaware, New York, these states are stealing customers from us. These casinos and this state has to do something or else they are going to lose the rest of the business they have.”
But also for the gambling experts, anything can just happen in the months to come before the end of the year, Atlantic City casinos may also present an account of earnings better than they thought they will also show. They have been really trying to have again all these gamblers who walked away from them due to the 2008 economic recession and because of this, they may also be able to get back to earning big revenues. They must only continue to really try to for as long as they can, they must even until after end of this year.
Rachel Beaker from Connecticut but visiting in Atlantic City said: “I just want to go back to the days when the lights shined bright and the party was on the Boardwalk. If things don’t change, it’s sad to say, but this may be my last trip here, and I’ve been coming every year for the past decade.”
