Ben Roethlisberger’s name is perhaps the much-publicized name in the NFL news today. His unwavering superstar stats are not the reason though but a buzz that continuous to stir people left and right. It seems to have painted the field red, causing quizzical looks to turn up from north to south.  A civil lawsuit was filed against the Quarterback when he returned to Lake Tahoe, and is now creating such a hullabaloo to media and his fans.  Good or bad publicity is still publicity, but will this hype stain his life forever?

Andrea McNulty, the name linked to the sexual assault charges against Roethlisberger, is an employee at Harrah’s Casino in Lake Tahoe.  She was the VIP Casino host who claimed to have received a phony request to have the TV fixed in his room.  A technician was not accessible at that time so she went up to Ben’s room to fix the faulty television.  Too late to contend, she was lured into the room and was raped on July 11 of 2008.

A criminal complaint was never filed.  McNulty backed out since she feared that Harrah’s will not protect her and fire her instead.  The incident caused her to feel depressed and was later on required to undergo treatment as manifested in the lawsuit. According to the court case, Harrah’s management was aware of the charges for months already, and chose to cover up the incident which clearly showed their disinterest to work in favor of McNulty.  The casino’s lawyers responded to “dissuade plaintiff from pressing claims against Roethlisberger… and Harrah’s.  With her claims utterly stated, the lawsuit seeks $440,000 in damages from Roethlisberger, $50,000 in damages from the Harrah’s executives and unstipulated amount for punitive reparation.

Cornwell, in his statement, refutes all accusations made against the Pittsburg Steelers Quarterback. It remains a fabrication and will forever be. He believes that Ben will submit himself to investigation and will cooperate fully to have his name exonerated in no time. Ben knows that if the investigation is accurate he will not be guilty of anything. He trusts him and remains steadfast in his mission to prove McNulty wrong.  His attorneys said that Ben will not engage in any type of discussion about his story or the accusations being held against him.

Roethlisberger claimed that all of these accusations against him were false. He went on to say that these types of charges are serious and the accusers don’t realize what they have done to an innocent man’s life. The NFL superstar completely denies the accusations.  He also told the press he would never do anything to hurt anyone, especially his family.

His face full of anger and conviction to clear his name was very evident in his recent interview.  Looking at him, you may choose to assume that there is a clash that may befall in front of jury.  Wherever this case is going, one can tell that on his blazing argument, Roethlisberger will never raise the white flag.
