Gambling AddictionFinally, California could provide publicly funded treatment program for problem gamblers. It was reported that the well-known research institution, the UCLA Gambling Studies Program, got in touch with the Department of Alcohol and Drug Program’s Office of Problem Gambling for a partnership that will help make first publicly funded gambling treatment program for California be possible. It was said that program will include different ways of helping those gamblers who have developed addictions. At last, California could already extend help to those poor gamblers.

Co-Director of the Gambling Studies Program Timothy Fong said: “This is a collaborative effort between the state of California and a major research institution to develop evidence-based methods to address gambling addiction.”

It was reported that the program will feature some different gambling treatment techniques. And it will also have residential and outpatient treatment. Not to forget to mention that it will also provide trainings for the counselors to ensure they are truly capable of extending help to gamblers who have developed addictions.

The program was said to be the first of its kind for California. And the residents were happy with such effort of the UCLA Gambling Studies Program and the Department of Alcohol and Drug Program’s Office of Problem Gambling. They were good enough to be into partnership that will help make first publicly funded gambling treatment program for California be possible.

Max Walher said: “We (California) have expanded and expanded gambling, and all along the government had to know that problem gambling was going to rise. I’m glad to see they are coming up with ways to help these gambling addicts that cannot control their gambling addictions.”

We just hope that the program will be available for as long as there are still some problem gamblers in California. It will just really help.
