Card CountingFor many experienced gamblers and followers of laws, card counting in casino is considered not illegal based on U.S. laws. With this said, a gambler may just try to do such act if he or she wants to. But then recently, an issue came up which has something to do with it.

In Indiana, a blackjack player went to court for the purpose of restitution and to persuade a local casino to allow him play at their blackjack tables once again. Player is named Thomas Donovan and the local casino is the Grand Victoria Casino and Resort.

According to Donovan, a personnel of the casino told him that he won’t ever be given the chance to play once again at the blackjack tables of the casino for the reason of card counting. It was said to him that he was caught counting cards for several times and so the management of the casino came up with a decision to ban him from the blackjack tables.

Both parties first ended up being at a trial in Marion County court from where the casino won. However, Donovan appealed to a state court.

Just last week, two parties were called for a trial. Donovan argued that his being banned from the blackjack tables of the casino is not proper and can’t be supported neither by the casino’s own house rules nor the laws of Indiana. While the casino said in defense that they are private by nature and so with rights in terms of choosing who they want to play at their tables.

Ever since, Donovan didn’t deny the truth that he was counting cards at the tables way back then at the casino. But then he believes that he has reasons to bring everything in court most especially that card counting in casino, for many experienced gamblers and followers of laws, is considered not illegal based on U.S. laws.
