One General Manager of a top casino said: “We have 300 rooms rented, and if people are stranded and have no place to go, I’m certainly not going to throw them out into the storm. Right now we have no plans to close our hotel and restaurants.”

The top casinos closed because of Hurricane Irene although their owner tried not to close their doors. It was also necessary for the casinos to stop with their operations because of the hurricane. One casino co-owner said: “We’re focused on trying to help everybody get back home. If anybody comes in, we tell them the casino is closed and that we are shutting down.”
