The Ministry of Culture has issued a report this week in regards to the heavy war that is going on in China pertaining to online gambling. This is really starting to get to not only the companies but individuals as well.
It is said that Ministry Officials have punished in some way or another or closed about 100 businesses due to violating regulations and laws pertaining to online games. Some of these companies were not supposed to be offering online gambling while some were using violent or vulgar content. Some of these operations were even using game servers that were not permitted or even utilizing deceitful tools in their games and servers. There have also been about 30 violations against regulations of online games where virtual money transactions have taken place.
Almost a year ago, in June of 2009, the Chinese government created regulations that banned any use of virtual money for the trade of services or real goods. Furthermore, they issued regulations that banned virtual money to be used for any type of money laundering or gambling.
It appears that the Chinese government will be cracking down on the violations of the virtual currency laws soon as this is their next primary focus.
