The FireKeepers Casino opened on September 9th with a huge amount of promotion. It’s hard to believe it could possibly be as wonderful as all the ads said it would be but in most cases it exceeded expectations of most customers.

The casino is located in Battle Creek, Michigan right off Interstate 94 at exit 104. There are no accommodations there but they have partnered with several hotels in the area which offer several promotions.

The casino offers the opportunity to dine at 5 top line restaurants including Nibi, and upscale restaurant with classic menu and a bar top that looks like a running steam, Mijem Buffet featuring Asian, American and Italian cuisine, with 300 seats, Cafe 24/7 that offers sandwiches and deli food, Amazen Blazen Grab and Go for fast meals on the go, and Chi Mon-ee’s food court for fast food. There are also 3 lounges where you can get beverages and dance. Entertainment can be viewed at Kabaret and Darcey’s Sports Bar.

Entertainment venues intend to showcase local bands and comedy along with DJ performances. The bars have a large selection of US and local beers.

The casino has about 107,000 square feet of casino and boasts 2,600 slot machines and more than 75 table games including Blackjack, roulette, craps, and different styles poker. They offer Wheel of fortune, Star Wars, Wizard of Oz and a Monopoly Money Grab as well. They also offer a 200 seat Bingo Room that offers sessions five days a week.

The casino offers a Red Hot Rewards Club, a loyalty program where members can earn points for free slot plays and dining at any of the restaurants. Members will also receive promotional information and get better rates than the general public.

The owners of FireKeepers were thinking into the winter when they designed their heated concrete in the driveway and entrance. Snow can’t even keep patrons away. Another very good feature is that the building brings fresh air in from the outside and takes it underneath the gaming floor. It comes up through vents on the floor and is designed to take smoke up to the ceiling instead of it creating a haze over the whole scene. Therefore, the casino is non-smoking friendly even though many patrons can smoke inside the building. The air quality will stay suitable even for the fussiest non-smoker.

Twenty four hours after the opening of the casino, a Schoolcaft, Michigan woman hit the $469,626 jackpot playing “Tower of Power” slot machine.

The Kellogg Company is well noted for having its home in Battle Creek. It will now have to share its hometown with the casino owned by the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of Potawatomi Indians. The casino cost about $300 million and employees about 1500 staff members. Their mission is to offer a fun, upscale experience.
