Las Vegas casinos admit that the global economic crisis also badly affected the gambling industry. For last year, 2009, they actually had a significant revenue decline. Therefore as the new year, 2010, came they were in high hopes that they will be able to make up for such decline in their revenue. They looked forward to being able to get a huge revenue this 2010.
Before the big day, the New Year, Las Vegas casinos prepared plenty of big concerts, elaborated parties, generally a one really good entertainment for everyone. They planned to welcome 2010 with optimism, and really tried to start the new year right. They worked hard to bring in players who normally don’t go to Las Vegas during change of year.
Gaming analyst Steve Schwartz believed that the new year event is something that Nevada should make the most out of. He said that it is the event that casinos should make use to make up for some of their lost revenue from last year.
Most likely, the casinos succeeded in their pursuit to start the year right to get huge revenue this new year. By providing a generally great entertainment for everyone, they were able to bring money to their casino and started to work on boosting their revenue this 2010.
Both Vegas and Atlantic City had revenue declines in double digits for the most part of last year. The two are the largest gambling destinations in the U.S., and so it is quite disturbing that they didn’t do well in 2009. If they didn’t, then how much more the not so huge gambling destinations which in the past years had claimed little revenue from gambling? It is really high time for the casinos to make a move, to exert more effort. They must all get improvement in their revenue.
