Online Gambling (3)The Atlantic Lottery Corp. has been handling gambling activity for four provinces in Canada including Newfoundland. However, Newfoundland was recently reported not really interested about being into online gambling. It was then said that other provinces might be forced to also not be into such form of gambling.

But Nova Scotia Finance Minister Graham Steele faced the public to say that the Atlantic Lottery Corp. doesn’t need to worry as Nova Scotia can even continue with online gambling though Newfoundland decided to not be into it. Steele said that every province has the right to go for not offering online gambling. However, he said that it is not true that people will easily be addicted to online gambling and so provinces should not make it available to them.

Steele said: “If you look at the number of people who are addicted to alcohol and seeking treatment, the numbers are far larger than the number of people seeking treatment for gambling, but as a society, we find ways of dealing with it.”

British Columbia launched PlayNow.com in July and this started the online gambling activity in Canada. The online casino was introduced in effort to give Canadians opportunity to play their favorite casino games in a safe online environment. Although on its first day of operation it must be shut down because of security breach, it gave Canadians hope that they can finally play their favorite casino games in different environment. B.C. Lottery Corp. has the online gambling site now running after working on it for a month.

Well, there will be countries, provinces and people who will not ever be in favor of offering online gambling. It seems that Canada is currently not one of these countries; however one of Canadian provinces, Newfoundland, and people of this province might forever be against online gambling activity. But we’d be respecting their decision not to be into such form of gambling if ever.
