Recent Management Change Responsible for New Take on Contract Dispute

In July of 2009, the sportsbook that was then called WINunited told its affiliate program participants it was suspending its program to switch to a newer, less error-prone software system. Affiliates heard nothing else until WINunited closed its doors, rebranded itself as uWin.com and promptly shut down its affiliate program with no further notice to participants. The contract agreed to by both WINunited and its affiliates stated that affiliates would earn lifetime commissions for each referred user. uWin.com’s management team held firm to its decision during the ensuing uproar, and industry insiders began to wonder if this situation would turn out similar to what happened when the Grand Prive casino shut down its affiliate program under questionable circumstances.

Last month, the new team reinstated the affiliate program, agreed to pay existing affiliates retroactive to the program’s termination and continue to pay these affiliates their guaranteed lifetime commissions. The new management team has vowed to keep its promise of future payouts as the new affiliate program officially launched this month.

He mapped out the future of the YouWin brand, explaining his goal to position it to take advantage of the many emerging technologies with smartphones and PCs. His blueprint for the future included a deep commitment to customer service that would raise YouWin.com above the competition.

So far, the new affiliate program appears to be functioning without any glitches, and prior affiliates, speaking through the Gambling Affiliates Union, are happy to be working with the new youwin.com team. Both this controversy and that of Grand Prive have highlighted the importance of affiliate programs to their affiliates and the damage canceling them or altering them without warning can do to the reputation of any casino or sportsbook. No doubt, casinos and sportsbooks everywhere have learned a great deal from these two inc
