Because of security breach, PlayNow online gambling site must be shut down. A software flaw was discovered to be the problem. The government worked on the problem for more than a month, too long for some, but then at least the problem was fixed and the government was able to re-launch it.
Warren Beldum, one who waited for the re-launching of the online gambling site, said after hearing about the security breach problem being fixed: “This is going to be great and I cannot wait to sign up. I wish it could have happened sooner, but I am glad that they got all their issues straightened out and they no longer are putting all my information at risk. I can’t wait to play.”
There were hundreds of players who signed up in the first couple of hours that PlayNow was first launched. However, it must be shut down and so the government still doesn’t have much revenue from the online gambling site. According to reports, during the time that PlayNow was shut down, the government lost $150,000 per day in revenue. And instead of taking much revenue from the online gambling site, government even spent $5 million to fix the security breach problem. But at least, the problem was fixed and government now has PlayNow smoothly running.
