Paddy PowerJust recently, major online gambling company, Paddy Power, hit the headlines for offering Tiger Woods a contract worth $75 million for just promoting the Irish brand. And now, the company is hitting again the headlines for going for a church confessional sponsorship.

Yes, Paddy Power is believed to be going for such sponsorship. The company is actually now being reported happy to donate as much as $15,000 to the Our Lady and St. Etheldreda Church in Suffolk which is a town in the UK. And that the Paddy Power brand must be placed on the confessional box as part of the deal.

A Paddy Power official is also now being reported as really into the said sponsorship as for this official it could even help bring the church to the people, and two parties can just benefit from it.

While Catholic diocese spokesman Mark Hackeson is being reported as not against the said sponsorship as for the spokesman nothing morally wrong can be considered with gambling. For the spokesman, just as long as the people still put into consideration what they should do first before gambling, just nothing wrong. And for the spokesman as well, the church also raises funds through raffles which is also a form of gambling.

Gambling is not a sin, and the church community in Suffolk believes this. The community believes that there is nothing to worry about gambling, the people just need to be responsible enough to do what they should do first before doing so.

But of course, some sectors might not just be happy to hear about such kind of sponsorship. People might get things not right. They might think that the church really now promotes gambling because of the said deal that would actually place Paddy Power brand on confessional box. For some sectors, the sponsorship might be something unhelpful.
